SCROLL™ COMPRESSORS MEET CHANGING FOODSERVICE
REFRIGERATION NEEDS – HELP CUT ENERGY COSTS
The
Versatile Compressor Improves Efficiency in Walk-in, Reach-inand
Distributed Cooling Applications
ST. LOUIS, January 11, 2007 –
Emerson Climate Technologies, a
business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), announced that the use of its HVACR
industry-leading Copeland Scroll™ compressors are gaining
in popularity and utilization in vital refrigeration applications.
Foodservice
walk-in coolers and freezers require constant opening and closing –
a recipe for high-energy costs. Many foodservice operations
(restaurants, institutional foodservice, etc.) are opting for
refrigeration equipment outfitted with Copeland Scroll compressors
because of the technology’s inherent ability to maintain more
consistent temperature levels and to use less energy.
"With
razor-thin profit margins, foodservice operators are looking at
every possible way to reduce costs. They’re paying close attention
to energy consumption and are looking for new kinds of solutions to
improve their bottom line," said Jim Mozer, vice president of
marketing for Copeland Refrigeration. "Copeland Scroll compressors
save energy, but also impact the end-user’s maintenance costs due to
the durability of the technology and its ability to handle the
toughest applications."
Copeland
Scroll compressors are the leading compressor technology in the
United States for heating and air conditioning applications.
Refrigeration applications are seeing an increase in the use of
Copeland Scroll because of the compressor’s inherent efficiency,
durability and reliability. Copeland Scroll compressors are also
more compact than other refrigeration compressors – making them
perfect for walk-in coolers, reach-in coolers and distributed
refrigeration systems.
"Copeland
Scroll lends itself to refrigeration applications because it’s more
reliable and efficient than other compressors," said David Benn,
director of training, ICEE. "With Copeland Scroll, we don’t have to
worry about cleaning, noise or start/stop difficulties. As a result,
we’re seeing significant savings in both cost and energy."
