ST. LOUIS, June 20, 2006 - Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR), today announced the availability of its toll-free technical service number in support of Comfort Alert Diagnostics™. The technical service number (1-888-923-2323) allows contractors to contact specialized technicians when they have questions while working with units that contain Comfort Alert Diagnostics. The number ensures that contractors, especially those who are unfamiliar with or have limited exposure to the product, are able to adequately take advantage of the product’s invaluable diagnostic benefits when servicing units.

Introduced in 2003 as part of Emerson’s UltraTech™ Home Series, Comfort Alert Diagnostics is the first technology of its kind for troubleshooting heat pumps and air conditioning systems. Comfort Alert is proven to help guide service technicians more quickly and accurately to the root cause of a problem.

Comfort Alert Diagnostics improves diagnostic troubleshooting accuracy and speed of service by using the Copeland Scroll™ compressor as a sensor for system faults and communicates fault codes via flashing LEDs in the outdoor unit. With built-in communication, Comfort Alert also improves system reliability by communicating fault codes to a White-Rodgers thermostat which protects the compressor when severe, damaging faults are detected.

Comfort Alert is proven to improve diagnostic accuracy by 60%. Our phone support is designed to further improve troubleshooting capabilities, expand our support for contractors, and help meet their need for reducing callbacks.

A 2005 Emerson homeowner survey identified reliability as a key need of homeowners.
