EMERSON CLIMATE TECHNOLOGIES INTRODUCES INTELLIGENT STORE™ SOFTWARE SUITE FOR SUPERMARKET INDUSTRY

ST. LOUIS, September 19, 2005 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), today announced the availability of the Intelligent Store™ Software Suite for the supermarket industry. The software suite combines modules from Emerson’s ProAct™ software, as well as a new operational layer that enhances data flow and technician response capabilities within Emerson’s service center.

According to Neal Starling, vice president and general manager of Emerson’s Retail Services division, the new software will allow Emerson to seamlessly integrate alarm and maintenance data provided by facility management systems and automatically create work orders. “Once work orders are created, the software allows users to track service provider activities online through a web interface. The system can even be used to provide paperless invoices and approvals.” Integrating this information gives retailers insight into organizational costs, while tracking service and equipment needs.

As retailers further integrate facilities through offerings such as Intelligent Store, streamlining maintenance and management processes becomes key. By collecting and analyzing data through systems like the Intelligent Store Software Suite, retailers can dramatically reduce their maintenance management costs. This information can be used to improve efficiencies by pinpointing problem areas.

Intelligent Store Software Suite works on a global platform. Emerson Climate Technologies is currently using the software suite to provide services and support throughout North America, Europe and Asia. The Intelligent Store Software Suite offers multiple services including:

Refrigerant Tracking monitors refrigerant usage, technician certification and other critical elements in compliance with Section 608 of U.S. Clean Air Act.

Setpoint Verification allows retailers to maintain desired control setpoints within facilities and provides reports on unauthorized changes.

Condition-Based Maintenance continually collects, analyzes and monitors data from your equipment and systems to determine service needs.

Energy Monitoring and Analysis provides retailers with energy targets for facilities.

Alarm Monitoring and Analysis offers custom responses to all facility management system alarms, which can be tied to Emerson’s integrated dispatch service. Alarm currently supports more than 30 different models of facility controls from both Emerson and other vendors.

Emerson Climate Technologies has also renamed its global monitoring center in Atlanta to the ProAct Services Center. The center will continue to provide remote facility services such as alarm notification, energy analysis, vendor dispatch and refrigerant tracking. It currently provides services to nearly 4,500 supermarket and convenience store sites in the United States.
